Chris Rea was born on March 4, 1951, in Middlesbrough. He is best known for the song <strong>&#8220;Driving Home for Christmas&#8221;<\/strong>. He came up with the idea for it in 1978 while stuck in a traffic jam during the pre-Christmas season.
