He died on 6 March 1967 in Budapest. 2017 is the 50th anniversary of his death.<br \/>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"gdc_column gdc_cthird\"><div class=\"gdc_inner\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.motivgruppe-musik.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/201703.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" class=\"alignright\" \/><br \/>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><br \/>\nThe Hungarian composer, music teacher and ethnomusicologist Zolt\u00e1n Kod\u00e1ly learned early to play the violin and studied composition at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest from 1900 onwards. From 1907 he taught music theory and composition there. Kod\u00e1ly dealt with fundamental questions of music education and has authored numerous books. Together with his friend B\u00e9la Bart\u00f3k he collected more than 3500 Hungarian folk songs, which he examined scientifically. Since 1963 Zolt\u00e1n Kod\u00e1ly was President of the International Folk Music Council (IFMC) and 1961-1967 editor of the journal &#8220;Studia musicologica Academiae Scientiarum Hungaricae&#8221;.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<div class=\"gdc_row\"><div class=\"gdc_column gdc_chalf\"><div class=\"gdc_inner\"><br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/0pe5G6BodNQ?rel=0&amp;showinfo=0\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><br \/>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"gdc_column gdc_chalf\"><div class=\"gdc_inner\"><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe video shows the Rajk\u00f3 Orchestra performing at the Synagogue in Budapest.
